LA’s Lauv has never been one to stick to the established conventions of modern day pop music. Ever the creative thinker Lauv has managed to turn the entire concept of an ‘album’ on its head announcing his ‘dynamic playlist’, ‘I Met You When I Was 18‘ this week alongside his first ever Australian tour dates.

The new format will see the soon to be pop titan turn an album into a living, breathing and ever-changing concept over the coming months as LAUV pieces together the project, changing the order, adding new tracks and evolving the playlist as he himself evolves (kind of like Kayne West with The Life Of Pablo but with more stability and without having to join overpriced service to get the goods).

Taking full advantage of the flexibility and creativity that a streaming format offers over the coming month’s we’ll get to see Lauv evolve, adapt and explore new elements of his already highly refined sound as the list changes.

“Starting today, I’ve put all of these songs in order as a playlist. It’s called I met you when I was 18.  The puzzle is incomplete, and I’m going to be releasing A LOT of new music that fills in the gaps until this chapter of my life is fully told, starting with a new song on November 17. I’ve never been so excited and scared to share myself fully with the world, and the truth is you guys have inspired and empowered me to be so vulnerable.” – Lauv

The concept comes alongside the announcement of a massive world tour which will include his first ever visit to Australia in March next year. All the dates plus the first taste of ‘I Met You When I Was 18’ are below, get yourself amongst some seriously divine pop music right now.
