It seems Lorde is really ramping up the campaign in the lead up to her sophomore album Melodrama which is due out in less than a week now. The New Zealand superstar left us cheering last week with the release of Perfect Places and she’s done it again with what might be the best track we’ve heard from the album so far + announcing a huge Aussie tour!

Sober first made its way into the world in a small bar where Lorde performed before playing at Coachella weekend #1. The track has seen itself added into every set list since and has left us craving the studio ever since. Thank god it’s finally out, it was driving me insane not being able to listen to the studio version. Lightly tropical drums flirt with rumbling basslines and hushed synths that allow Lorde’s vocals to really take their place at the front of the track.

100% confirmed tune!

As if this news hadn’t left me hunched over trying to catch my breath from all the wild dancing, all remnants of sanity left when the song’s release coincided with the announcement of the Melodrama World Tour. Kicking off in the UK the tour will then see Lorde visit Australia for her biggest headline tour to date playing the capitals. Check those dates below and get ready because tickets go on sale June 13th via Presale.

18 November / Kings Park, Perth WA

21 November / Sydney Opera House, Sydney NSW

25 November / Spilt Milk Festival, Canberra ACT

26 November / Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne, VIC
