So I’m from Newcastle which normally means that if I want to go see any of the acts that I love I have to take an 2.5 almost 3 hour train ride to Sydney. This requires me having to take the day off from work so that I can get down in time on a weeknight to see the act and not getting back to Newcastle till 5:30am tired, fatigued and god damn irritable. But it’s all been worth it for the music. So when I heard that Newcastle was getting a new festival showcasing some of the biggest names in Aussie music whom I love dearly, well I nearly fainted.

This That Festival is the latest boutique music festival to grace the Australian land. For those of us from Newcastle over 18 you might remember a few years ago that we used to have a festival here called Foreshore Fest. Unfortunately though a slew of bad years and bad line-up decisions saw us lose that festival a few years ago, leaving us broken, defeated and in dire need of a new music festival.

Kicking off this year on Halloween no less the festival will be hosted on the iconic Newy Foreshore, so you’ll be able to listen to killer aussie acts all whilst the sea breeze refreshes you. Featuring two stages perfectly curated with rock, electronica, hip-hop and rnb acts that will blow your mind This That promises to be a killer.

It’s not just killer tunes though with markets, food stalls set to leave your mouth watering and finely selected beverages of the alcoholic kind on hand to quench your thirst, This. That isn’t just a festival it’s a cultural extravaganza.

Check out the line-up below and get ready to lose your mind this October when Newcastle shows everyone that we are a must visit location for all music acts.
