Porter Robinson has arrived. It seems that it was just yesterday that the EDM super child was playing the small stages at Stereosonic and little club shows in Sydney. Now he’s making splashes across the globe, being announced as part of the headlining line-up of Stereosonic 2015 and gearing up now to release his hotly anticipated debut album Worlds” which is due out August 8th in Australia and the 12th worldwide release. The first single from the “Worlds” album is an alt-electro track of antithetic proportions by the title of “Lionhearted feat. Urban Cone“, and boy is it a big one.

Lionhearted is a single of massive proportions and showcases a brand new side to Porter’s production aesthetic. Breaking away from the conventions of EDM Porter has developed his own genre of music with this track. He’s taken some EDM know how, mixed it with some Japanese anime sensibility and mixed it all together with just a sprinkle of pop and alternate production hints to create a track that is a hit with not just the EDM fans, but is easily accessible to everyone without being exclusive.

The track tells a story and has some real meaning behind it that is coupled with the beautiful soaring and anthemic chorus’. The story and concept delivered by the track is further explored by the music video for the track. The video shows Porter take to the screen in his debut amongst a group of weapon wielding Japanese Harajuku punk girls. Porter and the girls walk through the street causing mayhem and bringing their fight and  heart to the world around them. It’s a visually stunning and captivating piece of film that so clearly captures the world that Porter is creating with his new music, immersing you in a world of his own design.
Check out the video for Lionhearted below and don’t forget to pre-order your own copy of his debut album which features this track.
